Gender-Affirming Aesthetics: My Why and My Work

Whenever you start a business or take on a new venture, people often ask: “What’s your Why?”

My “Why?” has always been Gender-Affirming Aesthetics.

I love aesthetics, and there’s no better feeling than helping someone feel confident and at their best in their own skin. But the joy I get from helping alleviate some of the dysphoria experienced by my trans patients — and seeing their confidence soar — is something truly special.

At my clinic, Gender-Affirming Aesthetic treatments are about more than just appearance — they’re about identity, confidence, and feeling seen. Whether you’re exploring ways to align your features with how you feel inside, supporting someone you care about, or simply curious to learn more about non-surgical transition support, you’re in the right place.

What are Gender-Affirming Aesthetics?

Gender-Affirming Aesthetics are a powerful, non-surgical way to support trans people throughout their transition. Treatments can soften or enhance features to appear more feminine, masculine, somewhere in between — or simply help you feel more like you. Some of the most common treatments include lip filler, jawline and cheek enhancement, and skin boosters to improve overall texture and radiance. All of the treatments I offer are completely bespoke. I steer clear of a one-size-fits-all approach and always begin with a holistic consultation to make sure we get the best possible results.

For many of my clients, it’s not about conforming to beauty standards — it’s about feeling at home in their own face.

Gender-affirming care is crucial, but that doesn’t always mean it’s easy to access.

Waiting lists for NHS facial gender-affirming treatments are longer than ever, and facial surgery is rarely covered. Private procedures can cost anywhere from £10,000 to £35,000, making it unaffordable for many people. Surgery also carries additional risks and long recovery times. Non-surgical gender-affirming aesthetics offer a lower-risk, lower-cost alternative that’s reversible, flexible, and can be carried out at a pace that suits your needs.

When should I reach out?

The truth is — there’s no right or wrong answer. I’ve supported patients at every stage: from those taking their first steps (even if they’re not yet out to others), to those who transitioned years ago and simply want to explore subtle tweaks that support how they feel. The best thing to do is book a free consultation, and we can explore your options together.

All of the Gender-Affirming Aesthetics services I offer have been carefully co-created alongside members of the trans and non-binary community. I’ve spent the past few years listening, learning, and evolving my practice based on real feedback. Every aspect — from how consultations are structured, to the language I use, to how treatment plans are built — has been shaped by lived experience, not just clinical training. Your story, goals, and comfort are at the heart of everything I do.

Why Joy by Sophie

I’ve also worked hard to make my clinic a safer and more welcoming space — especially for those who may have felt judged or misunderstood elsewhere.

As a queer and neurodivergent-friendly aesthetic practitioner, I know how important it is to be met with care that feels personal and pressure-free. My approach is trauma-informed and mental-health aware. I take time to create bespoke injection plans that work with your natural features — not against them.

I pride myself on having a “clinic that doesn’t feel like a clinic” — expect plants, fidget toys, and the ability to fully be yourself. I also keep any harsh lighting to a minimum.

I truly believe that Gender-Affirming Aesthetics can be life-changing and should be as accessible as possible. Thanks to the generous support of the brands I work with, I’m able to offer discounted rates on gender-affirming dermal filler treatments. I also offer flexible memberships and payment options, because no one should be priced out of feeling at home in their own skin.

“I had masculinising jaw filler done by Sophie – it was my first aesthetic treatment so I didn't really know what to expect. As a trans person, it was so nice to be in a space in which you're comfortable immediately. I'm so happy with the results – Sophie is an absolute gem.”

Being able to support trans, non-binary, and gender-diverse clients in this way is one of the most meaningful parts of my work. I’m deeply grateful to every person who’s trusted me with their face and their story — and I’ll never take that for granted.

If you’re curious, nervous, excited, or anywhere in between — I’d love to meet you. Whether you’re just starting to explore your options or already have something in mind, you are so welcome here. And you are so LOVED.
